I've had issues with my Paperboy sound since I bought it; for a long time, the right speaker didn't work, and then the left one wouldn't work but the right one would. Now, neither speaker works when yoiu turn it on, but as it warms us, the speakers alternately try to produce some sound. I suspect a leaky capacitor, but I don't knowhow to test for this, and anyway I'm not sure which ones are suspected. Anyone have a similar issue, or knows what I'm talking about here?

Thanks,

Rob

Have you tried searching for "paperboy sound" there are dozens of threads on that topic, there are only so many times people can answer the same questions before they get bored.

i would check the connectors on the ar-3 board to see if they are tight.give it a wiggle to see if the sound cuts in and out, also check the connection on the speakers themselves. maybe ohm out the speakers to see if they are still good.

Rebuild your AR pcb

If you haven't done it yet, rebuild or have someone rebuild your AR pcb. After many years of service, it's time.. Plus you should look at the connector pins and connectors.. Broken solder joints can cause audio issues and tired burnt connectors once heated up can cause problems..

I rebuild ARs if your interested, or buy a kit and do it yourself. Best way to bulletproof your game for many years!
