I have a paperboy cabinet but I also have parts to build about 4 paperboys so its time to start a reproduction cabinet and match it to the original cabinet. I've already fixed some pretty important pieces on the plans and also verified some critical pieces as well! Anyone else use the paperboy plans that can tell me what issues they ran into? Im working on all the cleat positioning but just a few issues I found with the plans so far:

1. No cleat Position (added cleat positions to all the major pieces of the cabinet)
2. Base was off by .25" (from front to back)
3. Front Panel was .125" short
4. Back Panels were off by .0625" on Width
5. Front sides for where coindoor goes had the wrong angle (off by 1.7 degrees)
6. Coin Door Panel needed slight adjustments.

Pictures to follow!

So Far the plans are pretty decent. I had to make some angle changed to a few pieces, add all the crazy cleat positions and figure out a few pieces but overall its coming together!

I started with the front area first, I added .25" overall to the internal shelves width and did a dado joint inside so they will fit nice and snug together as well as easier to line up the shelves.

General Layout work:

For the build I am trying to stay true to the original layout of the cabinet besides adding a few more cleats, original cabinet was doweled together.

I have the cabinet pretty much 85% assembled at this point. I still need to secure the center portion to the main part of the cabinet, add some cleats for that, and work on the glass channels as well as the Monitor mount cleats and a back door cut.

I would love to build a from scratch Paperboy! Is there parts out there available enough to do this? Exited to see progress!

It's great of you to do this work and update @bdn103's plans!

Any chance you can attach pics of the OEM cab to show where the dowels were used?

Are you use a hand router to trace the old cabinet?

I confirmed all the CNC plans, updated them then cut with my AvidCNC. I originally used my plotter to cut all the pieces to verify them with the original cabinet then matched up the CNC cut pieces as well to the original cabinet.

Mine is a CNC router parts machine (older version of Avid) with some customization. How is the machine?

Works really good, I have the latest AvidPRO 4x8, 4hp Spindle, Nema 34, the accuracy is amazing.
Almost the same setup...just older stuff. Agree with you on the system. I had to do some maintenance on mine this weekend and it feels like a brand new system again.I am using a 4x8 , Nema 34, and a 5hp Chinese water cooled spindle. My setup is old, so I am still using Mach 3.

I purchased this cab cnc cut via https://www.arcadeworxusa.com/ from the plans found at https://www.classicarcadecabinets.com/
Most of the pieces are not labeled, so seeing your pics inside and out really helps!
Edit: can you check these pics and make sure I have everything in the correct place? Where do these other numbered parts go?

1 - Useless (different variant of marquee bracket setup that supports)
2- Bottom under coin door area
3 = behind cabinet from to hold the center area together (would probably need to take a photo to explain this one)
4 = can't remember
5 = Lower support under the coin door area that connectors the lower panel and closes off the cash box area
6 = angled piece part of front panel (foot rest area if you were sitting on a stool)
7 = Useless (different variant of marquee bracket setup that supports)
8 = not sure
9 = filler piece under the control panel but above the center piece that supports your coin door.
10 = Lower support for bezel/glass catch
11, 12 = left and right side supports behind marquee for speaker support.
13 = Light support (angled at 30 degrees)
14 = Back support behind light

So I am pretty sure it goes without saying that @markrl is the most successful, accurate and bad ass Paperboy built from scratch'er person here. I'd say any questions, contact him. I'm sure he used CNC and already has the exact factory spec'ed files for the cab. He mentioned several times he used all original parts in a "built from scratch" cab. His looked the best I ever seen, hands down. Reproduced the stickers and all to perfection. He did about 10 of them total over time I believe.

From memory, he was cutting by hand and not CNC. Agreed....his cabinets are awesome.
