NEW Paperboy price check

Pricing is all relative. The most important factor is how bad do you want it and will you feel justified with your purchase after the fact?

According to the Atari spreadsheet, only 3,442 were produced which doesn't make it rare, but how many are truly left in the world?

According to klov/vaps, 147 people have registered their original dedicated paperboy.

On exidy's price guide the range is $1500-2500

Many things make this game unique and hard to acquire replacement parts:

- med res monitor
- the control panel and control itself
- the pcb

all in all, this is a highly sought after game that demands a price of $1,000-2,000 easily.

Yeah I checked the exidy price guide and saw $2500 was the top end. I offered $2000 but the owner won't take less than $2500. I will probably need to do a cap kit on it sometime but everything else is good...

Just get a paper route and in about 14 years you can afford it.

Plus you'll be really good at it!

:D

Regardless of the game, I'd be more than irritated if I was spending $1500+ on a game that really needed a cap kit. Hopefully you could negotiate a few hundred down if it's really bad.

Also check what monitor is actually in it. If it's the med res Atari Disco - there aren't replacement flybacks available so if it ever goes that's the end.

I did some checking after I read this. Found out it has a wells gardner in it. Appreciate the information!

The cabinet can fit a 25 inch med res monitor with some mods to the cabinet. I dont think it hurts the value.

If it has the white knobs on the flyback it would be recommended to change it out. They are prone to going out and taking other components with them when they do. Good insurance if you know how to replace one, and might as well cap it at the same time.
