I have a question maybe someone can answer: is the small gear that mounts directly to the 5k pot the same in these three games?

I have been told many of the Star Wars yoke parts are the same as those in the paperboy controller. It appears the small D gear on my outrun is also the same, but I have not been able to pull them both to compare.

The reason I am asking is because if they are the same, I would like to order a replacement gear from the Ramcontrols yoke rebuild kit along with a few 5k pots.

If you haven't looked the Atari documentation is probably the best documented out of all the Arcade company's. The Star Wars and Paperboy Controller share some of the same components. You can't just purchase the yoke rebuild kit though, it needs to be slightly modified. You need (2) 60-Tooth Gears, (2) 14-Tooth Gears, and (2) 5k Pots from Ram Controls. I highly recommend these parts over the originals.

As for Outrun, the manual is not as detailed as Atari Manuals. The gear doesn't look like it matches. Measurements look to be in Metric and I don't think the Atari pots have a metric shaft. Would it work, maybe, but since you have both controllers in front of you it would be easier for you to check.
