reinstalled the paperboy after my restoration - suddenly the picture is upside down (pic 1). i have no idea what monitor type that is, but i've attached a picture of the chassis (pic 2) and the only labels there are on the tube itself (pic 3).

i was hoping that it was going to be an easy fix for a techno-noob like me, but let's see. anyone have an idea what could be wrong? wiring?

thx for your input!

p.s.: i could turn the monitor around ;)

Is there a second place to plug the YOKE connector in on the chassis ?
(couldn't really locate it in that pic)

No idea what monitor that is.

EDITED post after looking at the picture again and thinking about it.
Yeah, you COULD flip the entire monitor, but is that the way it came out of there?

Find the yoke connector. There are four wires from the yoke to the chassis. they are typically colored - red/blue/green/yellow. Red and blue are for horizontal and green and yellow are for vertical. I can't see them in that pic, and your monitor may have them as different colors.

Anyway, swap the positions of the red and blue, then swap the positions of the green and yellow....

if you're talking about that grey cable in the middle: no, can't plug it in anywhere else, because it's firmly attached to the chassis and can't be removed!

i'm pretty sure this is the way it came out of the cabinet, although theoretically it COULD BE switched because the chassis is not screwed to the tube, just connected by wires. however, have a look at the attached pic (which shows the entire setup): the labels have the correct orientation and the anode cab is on top, that's where it's supposed to be, right?

need any more pics?

is it possible that the orientation of the picture has changed? it was working nicely before i got it out, now it's upside down ...

Okay, I did a little more looking around, and it appears to be some sort of Hantarex chassis. Look in the back right corner behind the flyback. You should have two green connector with a plug to one of them? if so, move the plug to the other one and it should be fixed...

first of all: thx for taking care of my problem :)

now: there ARE two green connectors, but both have plugs attached (see pic). the lower one goes into a green connector on the chassis, the upper one (with the brown, red, yellow, white and the black bridge) directly to the back of the monitor.

swap something around?

Yeah, that's what I was looking for..... see where it says "REVERSE YOKE" ... move that to the plug behind it that's empty.

YEAH!!! thx for your help, guys - picture orientation is fine now. the only thing that needs fixing (besides the pcb) is the screen alignment now, but that should be a matter of turning knobs.

btw, i guess the monitor must have been installed upside down when i got the cab, because i NEVER touched that yoke connector in the first place!

once again: THANK YOU!!!

I bought a couple of Hantarexes and one has two switches hacked into the deflection wiring to switch H and V separately any way you like. Not a factory job, but it's certainly a nice idea....
