Paperboy Issues

Welp... being I have no way to check the ROM's... what options am I left with?

Buy a non-working boardset and hope to swap the ROMs?

Have a local friend with an EPROM burner read and verify the data? (preferred option)
Have hobbyroms burn & verify new ones for you? (may be cheaper than a boardset, not sure)

Oh, and I support the other posters recommendation: check the voltage on the PCB, nevermind at the PS.

So a local KLOVian mentioned he had a bunch of PCBs that he was going to be selling shortly. I PMed and asked if he had a Paperboy. He replied that he had an UNTESTED video board he'd let go for cheap. I bit.

I received the board today. I plugged it in and... unfortunately there was some sprite corruption issues... the paperboy himself and a few of the other sprites appeared to be "interlaced" with lines through them... but the issue I was having with my original video board was not present.

This told me something vital. The issue was, indeed, with the video board.

I immediately removed the new video board and dropped in my old one. One by one I removed the ROM's from the new board and replaced the roms in my old board. Each time I replaced a ROM I tested...

Sure enough, when I got to 6N, my issues cleared up!!

Nice...

THANK YOU P1001!
