Paperboy from scratch

Hey everyone.

Here's my recent progress with a beaten up Championship Sprint I found:

Original PCB worked for CS, had a playfield ram glitch, (fixed by Andre!!) and did the HobbyRoms Paperboy rom swap with a SlapTastic chip.

Original cab had screws all over the place, it was not very stable, looked like it had a serious collision with something.

Anyway, a friend of mine with a CNC machine meticulously recreated this beautiful work of art.

Almost complete, T moulding installed, game is working (with LCD for now, hard to find medium res monitors), artwork is on the way for marquee, control panel overlay and handlebar controller.

We powder coated the speaker grill and the coin door, and they look great!

Super happy with this, looking forward to enjoying one of my favorite games in a brand new cabinet.

Sweet. Now go get the Paperboy side art. Should be a breeze to apply it to that fresh clean melamine.

Sorry for the side question for your beautiful cabinet build....but what CNC plans did you use? I have a set on the website and I am in need of cutting a cabinet for someone in the near future. Just trying to get some information on the front side before I hit go.

Lol, seems like everyone with a CNC mill is always itching for projects. I had a buddy who cut me a new CP for my BigBlue one that was smashed.

I cut mine by hand and that System II is a like a Rubik's cube in spots.
If you find a source for a med res chassis please share the wisdom!

A friend of mine has a medium res that said "Championship Sprint" on it and we used it for testing. But alas it is not for sale. I have that wells Gardner 19". Going to run an EGA-VGA converter and then a scan line generator. We'll see how that works..

It will work, but if you are good enough you may notice that the timing is off compared to one with a tube vs lcd.
Keep looking and a proper crt will show up eventually!
