Paperboy 6502 Processor error...

Seems unlikely. I checked the manual and your screenshot indicates that your board is failing a test of communication with the sound processor. I have a tool that can help you diagnose that.

Well, I cant even get it this far again. Wont boot in test mode, so its gotta be deeper than that.

Old thread, but I can post the solution. I was correct. That error indicates a communication failure with the sound CPU. There was a bad ROM at C2.

Sometimes failing to show test mode was a separate problem. The 10.3v line was terrible and kept pulsing the power on reset signal. The bridge rectifier in the power brick had failed.

With those two components replaced, the game boots.

720 - 6502 Processor error

I just picked up 720 last weekend. It worked before and after the pick up. However...Once moved down stairs to the basement it now displays the same graphic error. Here was what was done to the game after the error:

Checked voltage at the switcher and the board. I reset all socketed chips and cleaned the interboard connector and made sure it was lined up straight. I also resoldered the power connectors on the boards (I saw one power connector on each board).

Take note that I have no experience with repairing games. I've read the thread a few times but again I am not an electronics expert. I don't think that I am able to do this on my own and would be willing to bring the boards to someone to have them looked at / repaired.

Thoughts? Much appreciated.

Check the crystals on the CPU board. I had a 720 with the same 6502 Error, and a broken crystal leg I replaced it, and it worked perfect.

Replace the 6502 cpu, have known a few just die even with healthy voltages. The sound 6502 in my Vindicators cabinet failed on the second power up. The cpu is socketed so it is an easy thing to rule out.
