Pandora's Box 6 Owners - Update!

Yep, there is a button on the side (Setting Button in pic above) to change the resolution. Super easy. As a matter of fact, when I got it it was set to a different resolution and I thought it was messed up, until I read the directions that came with it...duh!

Before I changed it to CGA:

It looks great on my Vision Pro CGA monitor.

And yes, they are cheap now.

:D

Super tempted. How does the 4 player setup look?

I could not get my board to stay in the cga resolution, and I couldn't get Roms to show up per the instructions and the link they gave me, got returned.

What do you mean?

Did it play in the CGA resolution and then change to another resolution while playing it?

No, I would power it down then mes aroound with the roms then turn it back on and I would have to do that cycle of pressing the button while powering it on to get back to cga, if I had to do that every time, I didn't want it.

Did you try it two times in a row with out messing with the roms?

That may have caused it to reset each time.

I have not messed with the roms yet, so I don't know.

The Community Collection Update for any owners of the Pandora's Box 6 jamma board.

Compatible with :
MAME 0.161 Set
FBAlpha 2.97.36 Set
and PS1 Images

The PB6 jamma board original comes with 1,300 games on a Sandisk USB stick, (130 pages of 10 games per screen in the menu), but with the USB disk you can alter the roms.

A lot of work and effort by several people have made it easy to add another 1240 games from MAME to the board. That's 254 pages of 10 games in the menu!

The team has went through all of the roms to make sure that the games are at least playable. Plus preview videos of all additional games were made as well.

This update basically doubles the games on your Pandora's Box 6.

And, you can add Playstation 1 roms as well as the PB6 has a built in PS1 emulator.

Check out all the info here and be sure to let zerojay and the gang know if you like the Community Collection they have put together...

very cool

I will need to check this out. I am happy with my Pandora Box 6. SFIII plays great!

I am actually quite pleased with the PB6 and with this new addition of 1240 more games, I'm really liking it.

I bought a Jamma switcher, de-cased the PB6 and plugged it right in! I am adding these extra games tonight.

It does work pretty great

just ordered mine today on special too for 69$

still on special for 3 days, upgraded to eparcel (wonder how much time it will take to get here).

I've received a couple of PM's wanting to know what to do, so hopefully this will clear it up.

Here is the Discord forum page:

https://discordapp.com/invite/XyayrMa

Log in or join and log in, the go to the Community Collection page.

In the upper right are the Pinned files.

The ones you need are:

PB6 Community Collection - FBA ROMs

PB6 Community Collection - MAME ROMs

PB6 Community Collection - Movies

Follow the instructions on this page:

https://zerojay.com/blog/pandoras-box-6-community-collection-released

You will need a bigger USB stick (64GB works good) and then copy the original PB6 files on to that first, and then follow the instructions above to add the Community Collection files.

:D

I agree. I had the same problem.

I tried to upload the files to my site, but they are too big.

But once you figure it out, it's totally worth it if you own a PB6.

Basically doubles your game count.

:D

I finally got around to playing with this and I have to say that the PB6 in CGA does really well. I don't love all the crap the community collection adds - I'm not try to play Spy Hunter in a Dyanmo cab, but all in all it's cool you can add games to it. That Discord is a mess to navigate, but it looks like there are a ton of guys into modding these which is cool. For $70 it's totally worth it.
