I'm semi-restoring a Pole Position II cabinet. (The Ireland version).

Apparently the particle board sides have white vinyl on the outside over which the art was screen printed on, and the front has black vinyl on it.

Has anyone had to repaint one of these cabinets? I'm searching for black and white paint recommendations.

Also, I know this is a long shot, but does anyone have the color codes for the artwork? (Even the color codes for the regular U.S. cabinet would suffice).

Thanks.

Well, you're not likely going to match paint to white vinyl.. and same as with automotive finishes there are probably 100s of shades of what we'd call white. I've seen the Atari cabinet white vinyl from crisp white to a yellowed tinge.

again on the colors of screened inks
having even the ORGINAL ATARI PMS COLORS dont really help you match your partical cabinet when trying to do any "touchup" work.

There are simply too many variables due to the age and how the gane was stored over the years. Look at a non restores MsPac some may be pink some have faded to almost white of various degress.

Atari PMS specs for those colors
would be Pantone Warm Red and the Blue PMS300

best option for matching paints white/black to the vinyl would be a latex
just rememeber waterbased products arnt the best thing to use on a partical board cab

Yes, I know. This is why I'm going over all the colors.

Right now I'm working on the best way to prepare the sides of the cabinet since the bottom portions are now plywood.

BTW. Did you ever finish that page on color matching?

Thanks.
