Anyone ever tried?

Basically I need to glue together some cracked parts of plastic on one of my cabinets. I figure then putting a coat of paint or spray painting will help mask the work. Is this a good idea? Or will the paint screw things up or look terrible?

Also does anyone have a preferred glue for plastic on plastic?

Plastidip is rubbery, isn't it? Krylon Fusion is supposed to bond to plastic. I've used it and it's been fine, but I think it depends on how much wear/use the piece will get. That will also effect the type of adhesive you use. You might use superglue, JB Weld, or some other 2 part epoxy. I'd go with one of the latter two.

Yes I was thinking jb weld or an epoxy, but then I thought maybe just gorilla glue would work, and there is also an instant krazy glue for plastics. I don't have any experience with epoxys.

I looked at the krylon fusion after posting this and think that may work if I'm able to get the right color. I'm not exactly sure what the original color was - if it's supposed to be bright white and mine has just yellowed over the decades, or if it was more a cream color.

Don't be scared by epoxies. They have some that are in a 2 part plunger system..you squirt out the two equal parts, mix, and apply. You then cover the end to use again. I use ones that set in 30 seconds and others in 5 minutes. I usually use a little scrap of aluminum foil, squirt it out, mix it with a toothpick, and apply. Same sort of thing with JB Weld...you just mix equal parts of the two components and apply. jB Weld is thicker, so I usually use a scrap of cardboard or metal or wood or whatever laying around and mix it with a nail or something. Whatever you mix is on or mix it with will end up being trash, so keep that in mind.
