I have few games which have metal control panels which I will be putting new cpos on. Just wondering after removing the old cpo and sanding the old paint off, should
I prime it then paint before applying the new cpo or is just priming the metal enough?

Primer will help protect the metal and give the paint a surface to stick too. Primer by itself absorbs moisture over time, and will rust metal faster.

I HIGHLY recommend getting it powder coated glossy black. It will be more scratch resistant underneath, evenly coated and VERY decal friendly - its much more forgiving if you happen to misalign the decal or accidentally lay it down - usually pops right up. I also recommend (training the decal) with clamps for a few days to a week or more. This will make it easier to install and create less cracking down the road.

heres a tutorial I did on one

things to note:
-Orginal Bally panels were only primed unlke say Atari which were painted/powdercoated Black
Either way you should ALWAYS do one of the two for best stick.

-Its also Mfg recomended if applying to metal it should be fairly warm I forget exact temp
but if its too cold it wont andhere properly.

-Using a heat gun to bend and "form" the polycarbonate only applys to REAL cpos
(silkscreened printed not laminated inkjets)
