I've been pouring over the various KLOV posts about Pacman paint lately. The Omni(?) auto paint that was used on two recent restorations seems perfect, and produced about the best Pac restorations you'll ever see. The codes are posted in Talon's restoration thread, but of course that paint is pretty expensive, and would need to be sprayed with a good set up.
Prok and others point to Krylon Sun Yellow for the main cab. Based on that I prepped a peice of plywood, primered and sprayed it with Sun Yellow last weekend. I can't imagine a closer match to my original pac cab. I compared to an area that was under a Pacman Plus sticker on the side of the cab, where the yellow paint was a bit brighter (more original) than the rest of the cab. It was a perfect match.
Krylon spray cans have a new nossle that...with good technique...seems to produce a very even, smooth coat. Still, it seems like most here will say that using spray cans on your cab, other than metal peices, will get you sent straight to hell...so I'm not certain what I'm going to do yet.
For the other colors, I just did the regular matching technique: Grabed a stack of the color matching cards in the Home Depot paint section, brought them back to my cab, and picked the closest.
