Hello,
Turned on my Pac the other day only to be greeted with a screen with a bunch of horizontal dotted lines along with the maze.

Game plays and sounds fine. I swapped all socketed chips and daughter cards from another working board, problem remained. Anyone have any suggestions on a fix?
Many thanks,
Rich

Check the underside (solder side) of the board for any possible shorts like a pin bent over and touching another pin. Also check for any scratches that may have dragged some solder to cause a short between two traces or a pin to a trace. Check the component side as well. If in doubt, use the continuity tester setting on your multimeter. I have seen this on many boards that were from a stack of boards where the sharp leads from the solder side of one board cut into and scratched shorts in another board whose solder sides were facing each other. Or the weight caused pins to bend over and short to a trace or to another pin.

Best,

Bill

Bill,
I did check for bent pins on solder side but not for scratches dragging some solder. You pretty much nailed it, this board was in a stack of Pac boards. I'll get the magnifying glasses headset on and check more thoroughly.
Thanks,
Rich
