My sister found this for me at a yardsale. It's very well done and seems commercially produced, but there isn't a makers mark on any of the pieces. The characters have some 3D depth to them so they aren't cookie-cut. I've seen a ton of Pac related merchandise over the years, but never a wind chime.

Has anyone else ever seen one like this?

That's pretty cool! Looks hand made to me.

I feel the same way. Probably a high school ceramics art project. The choice of characters is strange. 2 pre-power pellet ghosts, 2 post power pellet ghosts, a Ms. Pac and a Pac, then 2 identical cabinet Pac's with legs. It's like whoever made it ran out of ideas on who should be immortalized. Still a cool find.

My mom made one of these for my brother and I, bitd. She did it at one of those paint it yourself ceramics places. She also made us a 3D R2D2, it was pretty awesome.

You guys are pretty amazing, a short afternoon later and we've got:

1. a link to a book about the molds
2. a post from someone that actually had one BITD
3. commentary on the choice of characters!

That's why I love this place so much!

It looks like they're made from plaster "slip" material that was poured in a mold, and whoever did the finish work did an excellent job because the outlines are very nicely done and the finish is nice and even. It has to be a craft project, thankfully the maker did a really nice job.
