hi all. I just got my board back from my guy i send them to to be repaired. i put the board back in and it works perfect as it does everytime i send him one to fix. my issue is with the monitor. in a part of the picture the colors are off. if i leave it on and open the table up (flip the hinged monitor open the further i open it the colors become perfect, then as i close it it goes back to being distorted. as if i put a huge magnet by the picture. NOW i was told it could be the speaker or the power supply causing this but if thats the case wouldnt all cocktail tables have this issue?? how should i fix this problem? heres a picture to show you guys

Yes that type of distortion is usually caused by a magnetic (gaussian) field. Very common when you change the orientation of a game or a monitor -- you're either moving closer to a speaker magnet, or reorienting in the earth's natural magnetic field. That magnetic field can deflect the beam slightly, and unevenly, making it hit the other colors.

Monitors have a built-in, but very weak, magnetic coil that runs briefly at startup to try and scramble any magnetic fields. So the problem might go away on its own with time. Alternately you can purchase a degaussing coil (link) to manually remove any magnetic field.

Very common with Midway cocktails. I have found that if the machine is turned on while the lid is open....then CLOSED, you'll need to manually degaus the monitor..... you can try this, turn machine off, open lid, turning machine on, THEN closing the lid with the monitor on....sometimes this will work. Else you'll need to manually degaus it....or find a local KLOVer that has one that can help you.

  1. Power down the table. Make sure lid is closed.
  2. Leave it off for at least 30 min.
  3. Spin it 90 degrees.
  4. Power it on.
  5. Rinse and repeat until gauss issues are fixed.

You are just going to have to manually degauss it.....it will literally take 5 seconds and your picture will be perfect....

well i got out my extra large car speaker i have out and gave it a try and after 15 minutes of learning the swooping pattern i got it all to the proper colors it should be! i already bid on a degaussing wand so hopefully ill win it to have to clean it up even better. Now to get rid of this annoying HumBar!!

Well if you don't win it Bob Roberts sell a nice degaussing coil for about $40. If you plan on being in the hobby for a while, you'll get your moneys worth out of it....
As for the humbar, most likely in your fuse block or edge connector....
