Hopefully this isn't a dumb question.... I want to remove a toasted electrohome monitor chassis from a pacman cocktail cabinet. The manual only shows the alignment not the disassembly. My best guess is that the glass top comes off along witht the underlayment revealing the mounting hardware? So am I close? The reason I ask is that If I don't have to take the top off I don't want to (yet).

Thanks
Michael

The top is hinged, and latched. You reach inside the coin door and unhook the latches. (one on each side, left and right) The top then folds down to the side exposing the insides.

Yep, and then you can remove the chassis without removing the tube. Discharge your monitor first, and especially discharge the far side of the small fuse if the chassis is bad. You don't want to accidentally touch the back side of that chassis if that filter cap has a charge in it...

Thanks for the info but I want to remove the entire chassis, tube and all. Looking at the "innards" I can't see how the "frame" attaches to the table top. Thats why I think the glass top needs to be removed first. I have a wg4900 that I think I can mod the frame to make it fit.

If your going to remove the tube, then you have to remove the glass hold down clips and then the glass. Then remove the four bolts that hold the tube(after removing the wires, etc from the chassis). The tube will come right out. Take the 4900 tube and reinstall. I would remove the steel frame the monitor chassis rest on if you want to install the new chassis unless you have some stand-offs to isolate the chassis from the metal. If you remove the cross metal frame then you can install the chassis right to the wood.

The "Monitor" has 3 main components.
1. Tube
2. Frame
3. Chassis

To remove the "Monitor" you will need to remove the top glass.

To remove the chassis, I have already given you instructions.

A 4900 does NOT need to be modified in any way to install it in there.

You SHOULD be able to remove the tube, frame, and everything without removing the glass. Once the top is folded open, you can see where the frame bolts to the wall and top. Just unhook everything to the monitor from the cab, remove the bolts holding the frame in place, and pull it out...

The top needed to come off. The frame "ears" are bolted from the top of the table (under the glass). The whole shebangee came out from the top. Kinda like taking an engine out.
The G07 is toast but after surfin the net, it looks better than some of the pics I've seen of other G07s. The HOT is shorted and the flyback is cracked. All the other semis look good so I ordered a rebuild kit along with the fuseable resistor that was open from www.therealbobroberts.net We'll see if the machine gets the G07 or the WG4600.....
BTW I got the game up and running for the first time tonight. It had a bad 74ls161 in the "V" timing chain and the Z80 socket was crap. Waka waka waka.
Thanks for the help..
