I have tested my monitor and board, so I know they are both good. I can see, hear, and play the game but I still have a pink fog on my screen. I have looked for disconnected wires and actually found one (not fixed yet) on the test button. Any idea, besides my pacman showing support for breast cancer, why this is happening?

Thanks for the replies.

I am actually putting it back together. I was given the cocktail table and bought a board and monitor. I may have found my problem, not sure. Can the input wires into the monitor from the board be backwards? The plug only fits one way but the player 2 does not work also. I traced pin R (makes screen flip for player 2?) and it leads to the Chassis. It is an Electrohome GO7CBO chassis. Thoughts!!!!!

I did some reading on gaussing and moved it around. The screen turned half green and half pink as I moved it? If I want to try de-gaussing it, what is the best magnit to use?

I think bob roberts sells the same one for $40 or $50, I got mine at frys for $40.

I curious if you have the degaussing wires hooked up to the chassis currently? Have any pics of the chassis you can show us?

I twisted a dead monitor degausing coil like a bandsaw blade down to a 10 " ring. Mounted a momentary switch in series, wrapped the whole thing with electrical tape and it works better than any of the ones I have tried "for sale" I paid almost nothing for it and have used it for twenty years. priceless

I do have a nice soldering gun, maybe I will try that. Just run up and down the screen? I have move it around, taken the speaker out, but the only change it that is seems to be getting worse the more times I turn it on. Attached is a pic of the monitor and the wires going into the monitor. Are those in the right spot? Plug only fits one way. thanks for the help!

Make sure that you do it with the screen in it's final position. IOW, with the top, up. If you're doing it with the top down, and then you put it up, you'll be back in the same place you started.

To me it lookes like you have more issues then just degaussing. You said you was putting it back together and bought the monitor from someone?? I wonder if the yoke got moved??? is it lose? the white lines is that noticiable???? they do not look like raster lines.. Monitor my need some servicing.... Just a thought

I had a guy test the monitor. I saw the spectrum of colors on the monitor and it looked great. Would it show a different picture when hooked up to the cocktail?

Most likely due to the magnetic fields of the earth being different when the monitor is pointing straight up.

I took one look at that picture and immediately thought "video ground". Trace out the wires from the game PCB up to the monitor, you've got a break somewhere.

The video ground (pin S) has two wires going into the pin but one is broke off and spliced in. The spliced in connection looks good though. Should I replace the pin? Other options? Also, the player 2 does not work (pin R) or flip the screen. Can these two problems be related?

Thanks for the info

I'm giving this a bump because I don't know Pac-Man specifically and it sounds like something may be miswired. Can a Pac fan chime in here?

In any case, ohm out that wire all the way from where it connects to the board, to where it connects to the monitor. If you're getting >1Ohm, there's something wrong with the wire itself.

The ground wire from the Dag is not connected to the neck board correctly. Looks like someone connected it to the chassis and then to the bottom ground pin on the neck board. You will need to connect it to the top ground pin on the neck board for use in a CT.

I checked the Dag wire and it is spliced in but the connection looks good? It is connected to the bottom ground pin but it is labeled CRT on the pin. The pin above that is just labeled 'E' (pic). Switch them? Also, just to make sure, my wires into the chassis are in the correct position right? Thanks for the help!

Yes, put it on the "E" approximately where your index finger is at.

The input is correct

Looks a little bit more clear but still has a pink screen? I need to try that monitor in another cab to eliminate the cab or the monitor from the problem.
