Pacman caberae weird graphics. Does not go past this screen

A friend of mine has a pacman caberae that worked great up until a few weeks ago. Not it boots to a weird screen "see pic" Can anyone tell me where to start checking to maybe fix this? It is an official Pac board.

On my PAC man boards when I see those kinds of glitches it's usually a bad video ram. There is a row of them (can't remember which one because I'm not near my machine). All of those chips should be socketed so I would start by pulling the socketed chips, carefully cleaning the legs with an eraser and then reseating them. If that dosen't work then I would start replacing the chips in the video section and possibly recap the board.

Got this fixed so anyone who finds this later wants to know since no one on here was really any help. It was a bad Z80 CPU. Swapped in a known good one and game booted right up.

Well done.

Thx for sharing the fix.

Are you sure the legs aren't just a little crusty? I've fixed a few boards with this.

Good to know, I'm just waiting for parts to start working on my pacman board. I have no idea how back off this board is but garnering info like this is priceless beforehand.
