Pac v3.0 4n1 how do I upgrade to v3.3?

That's crazy how that stuff just goes out. I hope it will work now in my machine!

Ty sir...

Fixed ! :D lol

Remind me and I will give you a stash of 27C512, 27128 & some wire so you can mod that one board you have left...

Shall she pick up the 4n1 tonight?

Well I guess I'll half to wait until next week cause by 7:30 i'll be toast...

Damnit... I should've been in MD... I could use some 512's. lol

Oh well, I'm still on V 2.something so no biggie.

FWIW, I started running the wires through the unused "holes" for the blank sockets to get to the underside of the board... lets you keep the top clean and makes finding alternate solder points much easier.

... also ran out of wire, but found out that an old CAT5 cable had the perfect sized wire. A little more sturdy and less likely to snap after you bend it 3 times. :p

... nevermind that +5 line on Row6... when I was putting the wires through the holes, forgot about that guy. Thought about running it down and back up, but figured keeping it shorter would be better in the long run. Oversight that will not happen again. I was happy with how this one turned out, I've been thinking about going back and redoing my personal one.

Great idea Scucci. Unfortunately my board is a pac board hacked to run ms pac, so those spots already had sockets soldered in.

Get 3.3 burned. You're going to like it!

Yeah this one was too. That's why there are those 2 extra sockets on the far left. I hate having extra parts on the board, so I'd probably remove any extra sockets that were in the way... but that wasn't my board... so... didn't remove them. Oddly enough, mine is a Pac board, hacked to run Ms. Pac without the daughter board, unhacked enough to use a daughter board, then unhacked to be back to factory'sh (by me), then hacked again for the 4 in 1... poor board.

I don't have the NVRAM on my board, so I can't really use it (V3.x). I'd love to put in the score saves, but honestly, just being able to go back and forth between the 2 (4) games is good enough for me. Get some Pac and MsPac plus on that beast, and I'll sure as hell swap up to a 4.0 or whatever... that's for sure.

I'll tell ya, once high scores were saving and a friend put up 175k on ms pac fast, it motivated me to play and work on my score. So you might find that you like having it. You get a high score table of 5 scores (per game) along with initials. The adapter is only $20 shipped I think, so it's hard to go wrong there.

Yeah, but I'm the only one that plays the game, minus my mother when she's down. She can barely clear the first maze, and I'm at 225K... sooo... I don't think I'll have to worry about competition on my machine anytime soon.

But, I'll probably go ahead and pick up a couple of the boards while I can... we'll see how this weekend goes, gotta make sure I have enough moneys.

That board looks very nice indeed plus the cat 5 wire tip is spot on. Thanks

I prefer to run all the wires on top, less chance of something snagging one and yanking it off. I use the via's to jump from one side to the other.

Oddly enough, that's why I did mine underneath. lol I guess we're just worried about different types of snapping.

Well I got the new v3.3 installed thanks to Riptor. Now the 4n1 is working but still kicks you out to the menu in the middle of the game. :(

Dude, bring the whole machine down one day. You have something else going on in that cab. That board ran smooth on the bench. Have you measured the 5v on the board?
