I'm considering converting my Rally-X cocktail table to play, at a minimum, Pac-man and Ms.Pac-man after I replace the woodgrain laminate with black, and since I don't want to have to place a Pac-man and a Ms.Pac-man PCB in the cabinet I wanted to ask for PCB recommendations that wouldn't require me to hack the controls panels.

I'd also appreciated any decent cocktail table underlay options. (With Pac/Ms.-Pac characters).

Thanks.

Not overly familiar with Rally X cocktail version.
That being said, just curious why you would want to replace the woodgrain laminate with black? Pac and Ms Pac cocktail both had woodgrain laminate.
Twobits.com sell nice repo Pac and Ms Pac underlays and CPOs.

Isn't the monitor orientation horizontal for Rally X? Can the monitor be rotate in that cabinet?

The woodgrain on it right now is damaged because the table had no leg levelers. Now since I have to do some wood work on it anyway, I might as well replace all of the laminate with something more "modern" and therefore more desirable than attempting to find the exact match.

Twobits is too much for me. And they don't sell a Pac/Ms.Pac combo overlay as far as I know.

Thanks.

Make it look like one or the other. Anything else will be hokey.

Drop a Pac board in there with your favorite flavor of multi hack. 4-1 maybe?

You will have to modify the harness.

6-Pac

I guy on here ("Hudson Arcade") sells an awesome "6-Pac" kit. I highly recommend it. :pacman:

you could use a 48-1 pcb and just turn off the games that use buttons.

that would leave
pacman
pac plus
ms pac
jr pac
ladybug
and maybe others I can't remember.

Are there any issues with the 48-1 PCB? And where is the best place to get it?

Thanks.

The sounds are a little different on Pac and Ms Pac (Jr Pac is pretty close), although you probably won't notice it. I don't know if there's any tunnel issues in Ms Pac like in MAME (some of the versions in MAME, the ghosts take a little longer to go thru the tunnel, so it changes the grouping a bit)

A 96-in-1 on a Pac board might work well but I am still not sure you will be able to rotate the monitor. You may have to modify the table top itself to do it.

The sounds and "tunnel lag" won't be an issue.(Tunnel lag is normal anyway on the original game).

But I still am trying to get an idea of what is a normal cost for the 48-1 and where would I get one.

As for the 96-1, can the game that aren't control panel-compatible be turned off?(Perhaps drilling the CP for a single button won't be a big deal). As for rotating the monitor. I definitely would have to do some woodwork first.

I also have a Galaxian cocktail cabinet. But I may just leave the Arkanoid R.O.D. in it or convert it back to Galaxian.(Either way, whatever I do I'm getting rid of both to make room).

Thanks.
