could someone please do me a favor and take some pictures from the inside of his pac-mania cab? i have at least two wires / connectors of which i have NO IDEA where they are supposed to go and which are NOT listed in the manual. don't want to turn the game on without them being connected ...

thx a lot - would be great to see some pics!

Why dont you post a picture of the wires in question and I will see if I can tell you where they go. That might be easier than me just randomly taking pictures not knowing what your looking for.

good idea, please find attached two pictures.

both wires without a connection yet come from the transformator. the first one (pic 1) is white. there are two other wires (blue and brown) coming out of the same spot, those two go to the monitor!
the second wire without connection (pic 2) is yellow. once again, there are two other wires (bown and blue) coming out of that spot, you can see on the picture where the lead!

do you need anything else?

update:

i've just found a spot on the "astec power supply" which is adjacent to the transformator. there is a "pin" labeled C10 which hasn't been used and could either be a connector for the unused white or yellow wire.

i've circled the corresponding pin in red on the attached picture 1 PLUS i've added a picture of the entire power assembly!

The C10 is a ground lug, I can see the symbol on the pcb.
That should be enough pics for me to figure it out. I will take a look at mine and see if those wires are connected. Looks like the same power supply that mine has. If I remember I can check it out this evening when I get home from work.

would it hurt if i turned it on with those wires not connected to see what's going to happen?

No, wont hurt a thing. Just dont go randomly connecting them without knowing where and what they do. Its very well possible they are unused and shouldnt be connected so I would give it a shot.

you mean the "assembly" with the brown and blue wires on one side and the black and white wires on the other side? the manual calls this thing "terminal block" and i don't think it's supposed to carry fuses!

btw, marquee light WORKS, but the coin door lights don't, although i have replaced the bulbs with new ones!

Well I guess if it's a terminal block, it would not require fuses...

i have no idea what a terminal block is or does ;)

It's really just a hub to connect wires to. It almost looks like those extra wires connect to it also, but where, I have no idea. Never used one like this, so I could be completely wrong... Better find out first before you actually connect anything.

Where you from? My machine doesnt have the same wires that yours does. Is yours a machine set up for different voltages? What type monitor does yours have in it? Mine is a 20EZ. That transformer is just the isolation trans so if your monitor is working I wouldnt worry about it.

from germany! it's set up to run on 220 volts. so your power supply looks different and you don't have those wires which are missing a connection?

as i've said, monitor seems to be working, but i get absolutely nothing? could i simply plug the main pcb into another jamma cab without the end pcb to test it?

Check the voltages coming out of the switching power supply. If the switcher is bad replace it with a standard switcher. Test the pcb in a standard jamma cab, you dont need the adapter pcb on there for that.
