I'm planning on repainting my Pac-Man, but finding the correct colors is driving me nuts. The colors on the twobits repro cpo are completely different from the ones on my cab's sides. Red and blue are much darker on the cpo, yellow isn't that shiny at all.

What would you do? Match the colours to the CPO or stick with the cab's original colors? After all, the colors on the bezel and marquee are different again (light blue for example) ...

I know there are some paint codes out there, but those are for American color and measuring systems. As a European, I have no idea what to do with a designation like this:

YELLOW
BASE: B 4-40240

COLOR AMOUNT

103 .5
104 1.5
113 20.5
114 11Y25.5

we have different bases and I don't know what all those numbers mean. Can those somehow be "converted" to be used over here?

haven't i said in my post above that those american color codes are of no use for us europeans?

Go to a store that custom mixes paint maybe they can help translate the codes. I have no idea what the difference is.

if we compare the original overlay with the twobits repro, the only color that seems to be off is the yellow.

which repro art would you suggest instead?

there are subtle differences in their fonts and in the copyright i stocked up on some early reproductions that were done years ago the differences are noticeable because im super picky andtwo bits flat out sucks

difference is that you american guys have different measuring systems (fluid ounces vs. litres) and that your base colors are different!
remove the coin door and frame. Use a razor and scrape a sample from underneath the coin door lip. Take that and have it matched. Under the door there should be no fading, so, there ya go.
