Pac Man works with slight "roll" of the screen from right to left

So I have a Pac Man with a G07 in it that works but has a roll of the screen from the right to the left. I tried a different monitor (G07) with the same results. Recapped the board with no change. Swapped PCB boards with no change. Pulled the "electrohome" wiring adapter plug (for Red, green, blue and sync) and re-flowed header pins with no change. I am thinking one of the wires going to the sync circuit is not right. Any thoughts??

Well, I tried replacing the fuse blocks with no change. Cleaned edge connector with no change. I am thinking that it may be related to the AC line filter. I'll give that a try next and if it does not work I will go with the suggestions on the Bob Roberts page and replace the edge connector.

I really doubt it's the AC line filter... I'd try wiggling the edge connector and have someone watch for changes. Or, just install a switcher.

So...I replaced the line filter with no change, purchased the Bob Roberts fuse block with 22/44 Molex connector kit and replaced those parts with no change (had previously changed the fuse block, but it was a cheaper one from Radio Shack). Shit!

Does Pac Man have issues with G07's? If my memory serves me correct I have another Pac cab that had a problem with its monitor (a WG) so I tried a spare G07 that I had around and I think I had the same "roll" in the picture on that monitor and different Pac cab.

Note: the picture is rock solid and is not like a Horizontal or Vertical hold issue, but it is like a wave that rolls under the picture from right to left and "lifts" the picture up as it moves.

You have hum bar. Make sure that your monitor frame is grounded correctly and the ground prong is not cut off of the plug. If the monitor is grounded correctly and all grounds are good, reflow the video headers on the G07 chassis.

Well I "solved" the problem. Feel like a jack ass. I replaced the power cord with a new one to make sure I had a good ground. No change. Jumpered the monitor frame and chassis directly to ground. No change. I had previously tried hooking up another monitor to the game (another G07) and had the same symptoms, so I didn't think the chassis that was in the Pac cab was causing the problem, but it was.

Swapped the chassis out with a recently recapped one and the picture is Rock Solid!

I am kicking myself because I was going to recap the "old" chassis, but thought that having tested it with another monitor (which kick myself again, probably needs a cap kit as well) and having the problem follow it to that monitor eliminated the "old" chassis as causing the problem. Learning every day.

Thanks to those that posted!

before you recap the chassis, reflow the video headers and retest the chassis

You are right on that tip. Fixed many G05's just doing that. It didn't work on the "old" chassis though. I didn't mention it, but it needed a new width coil, so the first thing I did last night was pull the "old" chassis out, replace the width coil and reflowed the pins and retested with no change.
