on 2 occasions I have seen Pac pass right through a ghost without dying. Otherwise it seems to work fine.

Yep yep, it's bug in the game. Completely normal. If you get really good you can start doing it on purpose... but the same rules also apply for fruits as well, if you're not careful you can pass right through them as well... there's a page somewhere out there that explains the bug, but I don't have the bookmark anymore.

Its much easier to do with speedup chip.
