Ok so I bought a new pcb thinking it was a pcb issue and that did not help at all so I am thinking I have a monitor issue. Where should I start with this? I know it's a WG but not sure on the model. Is there anything I should try first?

Found this post with the same issue will order some caps tonight. The other posts i.found with this issue said caps didn't fix it. Going to browse around for a new monitor as well but hopefully I can find a fix for this one.

Thanks for the reply will order parts and try it

i have the best quality cap kits in stock and i would recommend replacing C621 on that PCB also which doesn't come in any cap kit. here are the links

C621

i stock both types of black level pots if you need also.

the 4600 needs a tear down and a rebuild including new caps and reflow on all boards paying close attention to all the header pins on all the boards and connectors. you have to that before anymore troubleshooting can be performed. Paul

super ultra mega this.

I could be the exception to the rule, but whenever I had card connectivity issues simply reflowing them didn't work very well. you reflow them all, and remove the old solder, then solder back in with clean new solder. I do the odd numbered pins first, then evens. this is so the plugs/headers don't shift at all. the one that's most commonly called the vertical card I think (with the adjustment pots) has a number of parts that should be reflowed too as I think the vertical deflection ICs and whatever else are on it.

the Zaxxon at work a couple years ago had like a double image thing that kind of looks like this. the vertical card (adjustment card?) has a little silver box with a red knob inside it that controls this. that part was broken on the card, Arcadecup sent me another card to just drop in instead. it's a pretty delicate part to adjust, I guess they break easily, but you can verify that the solder's good to it too when you go to cap it.

4600s are awesome when they work. too many delicate parts to break, like those stupid width coils. which when you go to pull it out, I encourage you just desolder or cut the wires and solder them back on when you're done. I'm led to believe the wire orders don't matter, but you can mark a wire and post with a sharpie to put it back the exact way it was.

Full cap kit completed. Picture looks the same. Bummer I was really hoping that would fix it. Any ideas on what to do from here?

Yup tried those steps thank you for the input I adjusted the red pot that sits in the silver box and reflowed the pins I guess I could try desodering like you suggested. May give that a shot here in a bit.

So I took the advice and redid the soder on the header pins also noticed I forgot to replace the resistor at r360. And now it works! Thank you so.much for the help so excited to play some pac
