guys, i need some input ;):

i'm about to install the t-molding on my pac-man, but i'm not sure which color to use. most of the original cabs came with the orange version, but there was also a production run with yellow molding. what i don't like about the orange is that orange is nowhere to be found on the cab's artwork. while i somehow like yellow, i'm thinking "too much yellow might be too much for the cab". what about red or blue? has anyone every tried / seen pac cabs with different t-molding colors than orange?

pics would be perfect!!!

I've seen black and red T-molding.I was not impressed.Yellow or Orange would be the way to go,but since I like a game restored to its' original state as much as possible,I'd go with the orange T-molding.

pac-land is yellow for the most part of the cab as well and it has blue t-molding which i think rocks! i've just done a short test with yellow, orange, red and blue where i put all four colors in the t-molding slot one after the other. i don't like yellow because it doesn't attract attention, the color of the red is off, blue looks kickass and orange ... well, orange is THE original color, but imho somehow it doesn't fit.

somehow my pac row would look great like this: yellow-colored pac-man cab on the left with blue t-molding, then ms pac-man and pac-mania both with black t-molding in the middle and on the right yellow-colored pac-land with blue t-molding again!

and if i ever get a jr. pac-man, i'm going to put it in the middle with orange t-molding ...

i need more input :)

orange t-molding is the way to go and make it look original, I've seen them with yellow and even black molding and it doesn't look that great

I don't think I could ever use the same color t-molding as the cabinet. It looks like someone scratch-built or mame'd a machine, and painted the edges to hide the fact that they didn't have t-molding.

I think orange is the way to go. It really makes the cab pop

If you're looking for something different, I'd imagine red would be a good choice. That said, although you're right about orange being nowhere else on the cab, I'll toss my vote in for orange, as well. Somehow, it's just right. When I got my Pac, the orange had faded to near yellow, and replacing it with new orange molding really made it look sharp.

One more vote for Orange. It looks great against the yellow. I would think if you went with any color of yellow or white...or some other color that is in the cabinet, it'd look weird...sort of like you're trying to match the other art...but it would not match exactly. The contrasting orange looks good.

Well I see no dilemma, it's suppose to be orange and I think orange looks best.
But it's your game so if you like pink, purple, blue, green, red, yellow, black or white go for it.
But orange is correct :D

thx for all your input guys - i will go with PINK ;)

just kidding, i would have gone for blue, because it fits nicely, but the majority voted for orange, although i still think it doesn't fit well. i now have to choose between what looks better and what is original. damn, this is difficult!

One more vote for orange. Kind of a funny thing but when I first got my packman I thought it had yellow t-molding. Went to remove it and it was a bright orange underneath.

I guess if you go with orange in about 30 years you won't have to worry about it anymore as it would have turned into a nice yellow by then.

p.s. Blue wouldn't look too bad.

I did this one for a guy in my neighborhood. I think the black looks good. He didn't want the orange.

Definitely the orange holmes. Hand down I think it looks the coolest - The contrast isn't that extreme - It's like an in-between of the red and yellow in the art and it really makes the lines of the cab POP out at you. ORANGE FTW
