pac man stencils

Unfortunately, it's not something that people are going to just chime in and tell you where to get them. Namco is very protective, and even members that have been here for years can't get them. You might find someone who wants to resell theirs, but it's not likely. Phoenix arcade sells full side art if you're in the market for that.

I curious if these stencils are stickers you apply to paint certain parts to get the PacMan side art backout. Or is it the whole side art stickers to apply. How much too??

The stencils are adherable vinyl in 3 different layers...there are many restoration threads showing them. If you just want to go with side art, that's available at phoenixarcade.com the last time I looked.

I'll lay it all out there. We don't mean to sound so cryptic or rude, but you're a new member. People are not going to risk a lawsuit or a cease and desist order from Namco by selling stencils to someone who could quite possibly be working for them. There are files out there, but they are not accurate. The accurate stencils were redrawn and vectorized by the people that currently make them. The cloak and dagger routine is normal for many forums, like this one, who make products that may infringe on copyrights. However, the only reason these are made is that the companies that hold the copyrights won't manufacture or license quality reproductions for us to purchase. Like Namco, Lucasfilm is also like this...but more aggressive. They license reproductions, but they aren't accurate to the "real" thing. The stencils that are sold are very accurate, but the market is so small that Namco can't be bothered. They're also sold at a price point that is very affordable and there is little to no profit margin on them...something that would also not interest Namco. Those that sell them are quiet and those that know who sell them know enough to respect their privacy. If you stay around a while, and get to know some people, the stencils might find their way to you. However, like I said previously, there are many established members here that are looking for them and can't obtain them and have been looking for a while.

Namco stinks... If Bally Midway were still in the biz we wouldn't have to go to these lengths. After all, I knew of a happy little ape that worked his butt off to make something similar that came out perfect and because of Namco, that ended up in the dump... It's a damn shame.

In telling people the story behind Ms Pac, I've said it's ironic how Namco didn't even create the game or artwork, but still benefit from it. To be fair, we wouldn't have Ms Pac without the original Pac Man that they created.

Its a tough stencil set to work with due to details. I did 2 myself and wont do a 3rd cab with stencils unless a Ms. Pac. They are around and you will pay $150-$200. Expect to only get a set as a referal private job from one of the regulars that does stencils. You may have to establish yourself a bit before they will sell to you as th are labour intensive to make.
