Every day on my way to work (25 mile trip) I go past a bar restaurant. Have never been in it but I have driven past it 10 times a week for nearly 6 years. I had heard there was a Pac-Man in the place. Since I am on vacation this week, I decided to check it out (and also eat lunch with the family). The game was off when we got there but I asked about it and they let me turn it on. Its running Pac-Man Plus set on 5 lives and it plays ok but it is in severe need of a cap it. The screen shot doesn't look horrible but it was way worse when I first turned it on. The image occupied only about 3/4 of the area of the screen. There is very bad vertical fold over and the vertical linearity is quite bad. The screen is so dark that it looks like the machine is off in the first two pics but it is on. The marquee lights don't work but the cabinet is pretty decent looking. The T-molding is pretty crispy but the monitor glass and CPO are damn nice. From what I have heard, this machine has spent most of its life in this bar. I was secretly hoping that the waitress would tell me it was broken and I might be able to work some kind of a deal either for the machine or repairing it. The kids had a good time playing it as they always do playing mine at home.
I haven't seen a regular Pac in the wild in many years. Around here, there are a few Ms. Pacs but that is the only Pac that I know of, and I have been driving right by it for 6 years.
