Pac Man Resetting itself with the slightest static touch

Before I put my LizardLick+60-in-1 into my Pac Man, the game would be UBER sensitive to static. The Drewcade has carpet and every so often, even the slightest twinge of static when someone touches the control panel or coin door will make the game reboot. It does not do this with my multiboard, nor does GORF or Ms Pac Man exhibit this behavior. However, my former Galaxian did this same thing as well.

Has anyone else run into this before?

Yup, My Ms. Pac (when I had one) would do this......I also had a Tron and Satan's Hollow that were bad about resets when hit with static.

Randy Fromm wrote an article on it. He recommended mixing a solution of fabric softner and water, putting it in a spray bottle, and misting a 4ft or so section around the games. I've done it...and it works. I found it also helps if you wipe the coin door and control panel metal down with a dryer sheet.

I don't understand how this would effect the system board if you have everything grounded properly.
