Whoo-hoo! A horrid show but I need to see it! Sign me up! :)

Pac-Man! The game that gobbled up a nation's quarters while its hero gobbled up those annoying Ghost Monsters spawned sequels, spin-offs, toys, games and more. Taking note of Pac-Man's avid fan base, famed carton studio Hanna-Barbera hit upon the idea of adapting the game for Saturday morning animation - becoming the first video game to make the jump to TV. Kids were immediately enraptured and a score of other arcade favorites soon followed Pac-Man, Ms. Pac-Man and Baby Pac-Man from the gaming console to the cathode ray tube.

In this 2-Disc, 13-Episode collection, Pac-Man does battle with Inky, Blinky, Pinky, Clyde and Sue, the Ghost Monster minions of the dreaded Mezmaron, who lusts after Pac-land's precious power spheres. Aided by his plucky and charming wife and son, Pac-Man saves the Pac-President, confronts the vampiric Pacula, discovers the Abominable Pac-Man and more. Pac-Venture awaits - no quarters required!

It's been more than a year and two months since we told you to expect the Warner Archive Collection to release the classic cartoon TV series on DVD, but now the MOD (manufacture on demand) program has at last made it official by announcing Pac-Man - The Complete 1st Season. It's scheduled to begin shipping a week from tomorrow, on January 31st, at a cost of $24.95 SRP for 2 discs and 13 episodes running 312 minutes. The voice cast includes Marty Ingels, Barbara Minkus, Russi Taylor, Frank Welker, Peter Cullen, Alan Lurie, and more! Since this is exclusively being sold through the WBShop online studio store at first (see button link below), they can only ship it to U.S.A. address. However, most Warner Archive titles become available later on through Amazon's CreateSpace program, which ships globally.

This takes me back ...

Back when I was a wee little brat they used to show preview shows
for the new Saturday cartoon lineups on Friday night.

My brother, father and myself were watching the the preview
show on ABC and they kept saying "coming up, see a sneak
peak of the new Pacman cartoon". They finally showed this
sneak peak at the very end of the show. Must have lasted about
15 seconds and consisted of a handful of very, very short clips.
When the credits rolled, my father said "That's It ?!?!"

When the actual show aired Saturday morning even as a kid who
would watch just about anything, I realized why they only showed
that 15 second preview.

I search on eBay for DVDs (and at Best Buy maybe twice a year) and I am often surprised as to what is out. Rarely any news, just happen to find it. Like the War of the Worlds TV show is on DVD? AWESOME ... I won't pay that much.

awesome!!! i will be buying this for sure. i remember when they used to rerun this on the boomerang channel about 10 years ago.

just got mine its a dvdr!!!!!! the response?

The following message regarding DVD-R formatted discs comes directly from Warner Home Video Archives, the manufacturer or this set. Since this set is an older title, the only available format is DVD-R. It's still official product:

Q: What makes an on-demand DVD different than a Commercial DVD?

A: DVDs produced on-demand are similar to, but not quite same as, DVDs you'd buy at the local video store. DVD movies you buy at the local video outlet are manufactured from a mold via a stamping process whereas on-demand DVDs are "burned". Each carries information read by the DVD player, but the physical properties of the two are different.

Most DVD players are compatible with both commercial DVD-Video and one or more of the "recordable DVD formats. Our on-demand DVDs are manufactured using the most widely accepted format, DVD-R.

The owner's manual of the DVD player usually lists which DVD recording formats it can play. Almost all DVD players can play DVD-R (except for some older models made before 2000)

Q: Should I care for my DVD-R made on-demand any differently than a DVD purchased at retail?

A: Each DVD is made specifically for the recipient at the time of purchase. So we hope you enjoy and care for it as you would….say… a new puppy. Seriously though, DVD-R's made on demand similar care and maintenance requirements as store purchased DVD's.

Avoid popcorn greasy finger prints on shiny part of the disc. Handle it from the edges and/or the center hub. Don't bend the disc when taking it out of the case, and be careful not to scratch the disc when placing it in the case or in the player tray. Keep the DVD in its protective case when not in use. And, avoid high heat sources or direct sunlight. Cared for properly, your DVD will provide many years of enjoyment.
