Hi All, I just got a original stand up pac man cabinet and am not sure if the monitor is mounted correctly.

There are two steel horizontal bars front and back that the monitor is screwed to. In the front of the cabinet only there is a wooden horizontal bar that the plastic light shield frame piece is screwed into from the top. In the back this plastic frame piece just kind of sits on the monitor (no wood bar). Above the plastic there is a piece of smoked plexi glass taped to the the plastic piece. All this is below the glass bezel. The problem is is that the monitor, plastic and plexi all slope down towards the front of the game so there is an inch or two gap on the sides of the monitor between the plexi and the glass in the front of the game only. Towards the back of the monitor the plexi sits right up against the glass. Is this correct?

I have added some photos to help.

Thanks

Originally there were metal bracket pieces attached to the monitor frame for the plastic bezel to attach to. It is not uncommon to find these missing, as operator's probably swapped monitors at some point and lost them. I've often seen the bezel screwed to the wood like you are seeing. It's possible that the bezel has also been replaced, so no longer has the holes needed to mount it to those brackets.

Unless you get the correct brackets, you may have to live with it...

On Pacman that is correct. Ms pac had the metal brackets. Both will work.

On the Pac mans the screwed the plastic bezel on the wood frame at the bottom, and the upper portion rested on the monitor glass. Then the Smoke bezel was foam double sticked to the bezel.

The Ms Pacs had a nicer system with metal brackets that mounted to the corner bolts of the tube, and the bezel was mounted on to that with c-clips holding the smoke bezel in place.

Looks like the only thing wrong is that the smoke bezel, has slide of to one side? Could be just the picture.

Thanks all. You are very perceptive as the plexi did slide a bit. I think I'll try some Velcro strips to hold it in place. I am in Burlington area. Looking for a few more games if you hear of anything in the area.
