Pac-Man Level 255 1 vs 2 ROM mod

Msg #8 in response to your query about 6J: "Nope, if you don't patch 6J then there is the possibility of Pac-Man getting stuck above or below the left tunnel entrance. Also you didn't change the difficulty."

Yes the hack that you've apparently got so much ego tied up in does things that were not described in your original post and thus does more than the hack I spent a few minutes on while waiting for a coworker to finish up and go out for beers.

Congratulations. You win the internet.
Perhaps you won't need to cry yourself to sleep now.

My first message: Would anyone be interested in my Pac-Man Level 255 patch ? This patch modifies Pac-Man to start at level 255. If this level is completed the next level (level 256) is the kill screen. Two ROMs need to be patched, 6E and 6J. I have two versions of the patch, one which also supports free play and one which does not.

I clearly mentioned 6E and 6J from the start. Also it sets level 255 with the correct 9th key difficulty which yours does not. You are the one with the ego, albeit a bruised ego now. Clearly you are so butthurt that I did a better job than you that you decided to attack me. You look like an incompetent and whiny little bitch now and I can keep hammering you all day but would really prefer you drop it and go away.

Congratulations. You win the internet.

Really ? Someone said that you invented the internet and now you're allowing me to win it ? WOW !

I never said it did, kiddo... and in your first post neither did you.
...and once again... you attacked me and my "code" first....

Ironically, I've spent more time laughing at your little hissy fit than I did looking at the code last night.

Level 255 has 9th key difficulty, that should be implicit unless you know nothing about Pac-Man. Guess I'm not surprised that you don't.

And I'm not anyone's kiddo you dumbass. Can you let this end now ?

Hey, guys. I'm almost done with my Spaeth logic emulator. Basically, you run it against a post you're thinking of making, and it will predict Mark's thought process (and therefore what kind of response to expect). I'm still working on the human social skills generator, which is admittedly unstable, but I've just about got it finished. A few examples:

If posting...

1) The creation of a new product or an improvement on an existing one --> You've already done this years ago, and it wasn't very hard. You could have sold some for profit, but you didn't feel like it. Let them know this fact, and consider accusing them of ripping off your idea and passing it off as their own. Also, if unsure of the quality of said ripoff, assume it's crap and call them on that, too. Be snarky about it.

2) Something in the repair forum --> let the poster know they are lazy for not searching for the solution via the search function, as this has already been asked numerous times. Do not point them in the right direction. Consider calling them kiddo, twinkie, or something of that nature. Let them know that the solution to their problem is very easy, but absolutely do not offer help.

3) Something that proves Mark to be wrong --> Nope. Not possible. You are never wrong. The person who made the original post was unclear, so technically, you weren't wrong: you merely provided a correct response based off incorrect data. Therefore, it is their fault. Insult them or withdraw from the thread entirely, as you've got better things to do than deal with dipshits. Hurl one final insult prior to exiting thread.

4) Something negative about Mark in the feedback thread --> Ignore it entirely. When people point it out to you in other threads, ignore them too. If forced to finally deal with it, offer zero apologies and place all of the blame squarely on the initiator of the feedback. Insult their intelligence while reasserting your own. Double down at every opportunity and be as abrasive as possible. Customers are dumb, and future customers who are turned off by your attitude are undeserving of the fruits of your labor.

5) Something like this post --> insult the guy who posted it, either publicly or via pm. Act tough, but report it to a mod. No one will know that you can't take half of the bullshit you dish out to others (but they know). Continue to bully others and be an all-around dickhole to people who share passion for your hobby.

"Mark's thought process"? Stop right there. You've already over-designed it :)

And thanks for your contributions, vbrooks. Hope you stick around.

I just added him to my ignore list so that's the end of that.

To everyone who messaged me about this thanks.

This thread is awesome; a couple of days ago I had been wondering what happened to RGVAC as it used to be, and now I've got to relive a bit of that time. Bitchin' rad.

And vbrooks, nice patch. I kinda look at is as being functionally-equivalent to a start-at-level-255 save state for actual hardware (yep, I get the difference between the two, but the end result is the same). Good job.

can we revoke the new guy's registration?
you should at least be on here a couple months
before you start acting like you own the place.

I vote no. He's not the one that threw the first stone.

Hey guys what's goin on in this threa...
