Pac-Man/Galaga Aniversary Cocktail

Syngefinger, have you had a chance to explore the game anymore? Would love to see some pics and hear more about what you discovered! I love this game, and it's nice to see it get a little bit of lovin' on here, LOL! I also have a local favorite restaurant that has the upright, so I have my home machine set to the same difficulty settings so when I happen to eat there, I can put a score or two on the board.

I did finally get into the coin door tonight and finally got to open the cabinet up, probably for the first time since it was delivered. Everything was clean as a whistle. Unfortunately, there wasn't a manual and it was pretty much how you had it described in your earlier post. Just the test button and volume control in plain site. I proceeded to put it into test mode and checked all the switches/buttons/etc. Everything worked great. I turned up the volume and played a few games and the sounds were perfect. I put in the Pac-Man code and played a game of Pac-Man too.

I do intend to post some pictures, but it will have to wait for a few days, as we're leaving on a camping trip early tomorrow AM. I promise I'll post some pictures when I return from the trip. Thanks for all your help TransAmFan and everyone else that contributed.

if you don't like it I have a 20th anniversary Up Right with the 25 inch. I'd trade. Its HUO, but they left it on like a night light so it has some pac burn.

I'm in Davenport but might meet you half way.

Come and meet me, I'm closer with a bartop ;)

Oh, and I did find that the game had apparently reset itself, as it was set to upright. One thing I don't understand is that I didn't see a way to set the game to free play? Also, since the manual wasn't in there, I"ll be keeping an eye out for a download or picking one up. Anyone have one for sale?

To set it to free play, go into the test menu, use the joystick to select General Adjusts, hit the Fire button, then scroll down with the joystick to where it asks you "Number of Credits to Start Game", select that with the Fire button, and just keep selecting until it says "Free Play", then exit out of the menus... Voila! No more quarters needed...

I have the manual in PDF file format, but it's too big to upload here apparently... If you'd like, I could try emailing it to you if you want to give me your email address. It's up to you.

Ahhh, thanks for the information. I thought I had checked that adjustment screen, but I must've missed that one. I appreciate it greatly! Also another member sent me a link to download the manual from. Thanks for your offer though.

No problemo... It's the one game I probably know more about than anyone else on here, LOL! FYI, the Galaga "no-fire" trick also works on this machine as well... ; >)

I just picked up a 20 Year Reunion Mrs. Pac-Man/Galaga and I am having a hard time opening it up. I have undone the two latches but the top still won't budge, not even a little. Is this like the old original Mrs. Pac-Mans where the top and monitor lean back? Am I supposed to remove or unlatch anything other that the two obvious latches up through the coin door? I would also greatly appreciate if anyone has a pdf of the manual. Thanks!

mine has slide locks then tilts back

Does it open like the original Pac-Man, in the picture, where the monitor and top stay together and tilt back? Is it only the two side locks on the inside? I have disconnected those and it doesn't budge. I'm hoping someone didn't glue it down. I'm afraid if I pull back on the top any harder I'm going to break it.

DeadCabinet,
Am I better off starting a new thread when the old one that relates to my issue is soooo old? I'm assuming your image was a comment about how old the thread was; is the reference to it being dead just that it is so old, or does a thread become "dead" after a set time and operate differently? Just curious. Thanks.

Incase anyone has a similar issue in the future with their cabinet not opening even after releasing the 2 latches; my issue was that the top had become "fused" over the years. I used a putty knife between the top and the sides and slowly worked it all the way around.
