Pac-Man/G07 ground strap, 60-1 ATX issues, power switch loose wire...

OK, here's what i'm dealing with now. Since I got this machine, the monitor ground strap has just been hanging from the monitor frame, with the other end looking like it broke off. Did some searching and saw it goes somewhere on the neckboard....well, I can't find where it goes or even a pic. Next, I'm putting a 60-1 board in with an ATX PS. Lots of searching with this as well but it was hard to find a definitive and dumbed down answer for a noob such as myself. Since the ATX supply will be powering the board, do I have to remove a transformer or fuses so I'm not giving it more power and overloading it? Also, i'll be using the P1/P2 fire button jumpers so I don't hack up the CP. I read somewhere that you have to tap into a ground for the controls to work. Anyone have a pic of this or can explain better? Last, I just noticed this wire hanging from the power button on top. Where does that go? Thanks for the help....i'm sure these have been answered a ton of times but I really couldn't find the definitive answers. Appreciate it!

Well, since you won't be using the Pac-Man harness or connector (unless you use a JAMMA adapter with the AC-to-DC conversion), there is no reason to remove fuses or transformer, but you can if you want. Just don't remove the fuse for the monitor, nor the main line fuse. If you use an adapter with AC-to-DC conversion, then you won't need the ATX PS. If your adapter doesn't convert, then remove the four fuses that provide power to the connector, then connect your ATX PS to the adapter on the spots provided for +5, +12 and ground.

Also, i'll be using the P1/P2 fire button jumpers so I don't hack up the CP. I read somewhere that you have to tap into a ground for the controls to work. Anyone have a pic of this or can explain better?

Are you using a JAMMA harness or an adapter? With an adapter, you'll need to add wires to utilize the P1/P2 buttons in a dual mode. If you use a new JAMMA harness, it will already have the wires you need and you can just wire them directly to the control panel. The control panel will use a common ground wire to all the switches. In order to use the P1/P2 buttons as Jump and/or Fire buttons also, then you need to connect the S1 and S2 wires from the JAMMA harness to the buttons on the same tab as the Start1 and Start2 wires.

Last, I just noticed this wire hanging from the power button on top. Where does that go? Thanks for the help....i'm sure these have been answered a ton of times but I really couldn't find the definitive answers. Appreciate it!

That is a ground wire for the metal plate. It's there as a safety precaution in case one of the power wires to the switch shorted to the plate. This would prevent you from getting a shock when operating the switch. Just attach under one of the screws holding the plate in place....

I'm using the jammaboards adapter. Here's how I have it now. Everything works, but no controls obviously.
