Hello,
I'm restoring a Pac-Man (my first full-cab restoration) and I need some help installing the decals. Does anyone have a guide for this?

Step 1: Don't use decals use stencils :D (but that is just my opinion)

+1 to this. The original was painted. Stencils are much more trouble, but the results are much nicer and more authentic.

Is your issue the applications technique, or the position of the decals on the cab? If it's position, I recall seeing a picture somewhere of a pacman cabinet with dimesions (distance from the edges) of the artwork. I referenced it when placing my stencils.

Good luck with your resto.

Make that three. Out of all my sticker-art games. My lone stenciled pac-man cab has the greatest looking art. I would have to believe find a set of pac-stencils would be tricky though..

Yes, I would rather have gone with stencils, but to make a long story short, i already have the decals. =] The main thing I need is measurements from the edges to where the original artwork was. Also, any suggestions for how to trim the decals to the edge of the cabinet would help a lot. Thanks!

Check out this thread. It's a pac-man restore using decals. Should have some good tips for you.

you did beat me with that link for a few hours, wanted to link to that topic to. :) Has a lot of useful information about applying stencils.

Too bad though you already have the decals, stencils are indeed to be preferred.

Thanks for the link and measurements! I will post pics when I finish the cab... if it turns out good... =/
