Greetings. I recently acquired a non-working Pac CT as to which it is working now. I didn't know if I should post it here on in the monitor repair section.
Anyway, problem that I'm having are color issues with the fruit (cherries are white as well as some of the other fruit being white-washed) along with the ghosts being totally white-washed after eating the power pellets. After the 1st intermission, the 3rd maze is totally brown, not the usual blue as is the maze after the second intermission being a scarlet red. See pictures....

Could it maybe a monitor issue, bad gun? I'm not certain but the other red/blue/primary colors seem to be all fine in the attract screen. So this is leading me to believe that it also my be a PCB issue as well. I don't have any other cabinet to test this in either since I sold my UR!!!

This one is really stumping me after capping the G07 and replacing the width coil. Gurus-- I need your advice!

First try adjusting the r/g/b drive pots/cutoffs.

Before testing the color amps on the neckboard, open the cocktail cabinet top.
Now turn the game on and pay attention to the colors. Next, with game still on, slowly close the cabinet top while looking at the problem areas. If you notice the colors changing while you are closing the top then you have magnetic interference. Try deguassing every square inch of that monitor.

If there is no change while moving the top check the red color transistor or swap with one of the other two on the neckboard.

Is there any chance this is a bootleg board? I know there were a few of them that had "similar" graphic colors to the one you've posted.

colors

degause the tube, but i believe you might have a color prom out. Try and reset maybe a bad connection on ic leg.

Mikerk and NutterPac- I'll try and Degauss the tube next-- it does get allot of magnetic interference. If not I'll take your suggestions for step two Mik! :)

Eagle- It's definitely not a bootleg board but it is running Spaeth's 6-Pac

Dokert- Let me know if you come up with anything if it pops in your head. I'd like to know what is causing all this mess.

I got a PM from Riptor to check out the color PROMs at 4A and 7F. This used to be a Pac-Plus running on this PCB so that would clarify the color issues with the fruit/ghosts. Anyone got any replacements I could use or barter for these ones or where I could find some?

White cherry is a good indication you have pac plus proms. I have seen failing pac/mspac proms do the same thing but in your case its pretty clear it was converted and the proms were not changed. Its usually a good idea to swap in some new sockets on these.

Thanks for all the info fellas.
Yeah I kinda was thinking that as well Mark-- OBTW your 6-Pac is still holding strong after being in it's 2nd new home! ;) It's been a big hit over here and people that visit have been inquiring!
After calling up with the buyer of my UR- He's willing to swap out the proms with mine since the Pac-Plus is in his cab doing similar things-- silly me! I'll be doing the cosmetics as it gets warmer around here (April?).
