That is amazing. I almost can't believe that is the same cabinet. Great job! I really enjoyed reading your posts and seeing all the detail you put into it. Thanks for the inspiration!

Absolutely gorgeous. I love those mini Pac cabs. Used to have one with the Jr. Pac kit installed. Really stellar work there sir.

Lucky, looks good.

I want to restore my Ms. Pac cabaret but it's not it rough enough shape for it to be anywhere near making the "need to do this" list.

Where did you get the sticker for the front artwork on the CP, do they have Ms. Pacs, and (more importantly) do they have stencils?!

Not have'ng the CP complete on mine is bugging me... but since the whole cabinet is clad in black vinyl, and the monitor is a mobile hot zone (x-ray protection disabled), that's the least of my concerns.

Anyways, really good job there, most people would've written that off and parted it... good job!

I'm checking out all the pics in the other thread, right now. And I must say your attention to detail and documentation of the entire process is amazing. It takes a lot of time and planning to pay attention to every facet of the process like you did. Great work.

Hi,

The C/P Artwork was supplied by - http://myworld.ebay.co.uk/monkey-online/

He is highly recommended by lots of UK gamers & collectors. His work is fantastic and of great quality.
You can request something 'custom' if you like.

Thanks to you all for the kind comments. There were many more processes that went into the resto, like the use of rouge powder to get the fine scratches from the glass bezel.
It was a REAL messy job, done with a power drill & buffer lambswool pad.

I even went to the trouble of searching for a possibility for the C/P Artwork to be screenprinted (as this was the original way it was done) but I had no luck.
If anyone requires more information on the resto, feel free to email me.
When the resto was complete, I took the cab to a Retro meeting in the UK were over 200 guys had a chance to play the cab. It was great watching them having fun on Pac Man, some of them too young to play it in the arcade.
That's what made this worth all the sweat & tears.

Here's the link, the cab can be seen about 2.30 into the clip with yours truly .......

Once again, thanks.

Just a quick update.
The cab has run without fault since the resto and the joystick has loosened up a little which has made gameplay much better.
It has been to 2 gaming events in the U.K for the public to play and has been well received by older and younger gamers alike. Amazing after such a long time.

Man I missed this the first time you posted it so thanks for the bump. :) It looks great! I'm working on a Ms Pac-Man that also had a rotted bottom panel.

Thanks for the bump on this thread, as I also missed it originally. I am working on the same Pac Man cabaret right now. I will probably start a thread when mine is complete to share pics of the process just like you did. I don't know what it is about these machines, but I really love the cabinet shape and size. Yours looks amazing! I've definitely got my work cut out for me on this one...

I like the look of the cabarets too. Even the vinyl woodgrain doesn't bother me. In fact I have a DK mini that I tend to favor over my upright.

Speaking of woodgrain...what was your source of laminate for that restore?

The grain/color looks close to what I need for my Missile Command Cabaret...

I 2nd that question. I'm restoring a Missile Command cabaret and maybe later a BZ. Is what Arcadeshop sells a suitable replacement, in terms of grain and color?
