Pac-Man Battle Royale finally out

Don't get me wrong; I'm super amped on this game, and It looks like a lot of fun. Also I'm such a pac-fan I have a pac-man tattoo. But $4275???!!! Yikes!! As much as new(ish) pinball? I don't know about that. That being said, I hope D and B gets one so I can play it!

Price is outrageous. I would rather make one and put an xbox 360 in it with both championship editions on it. That would be bad ass!

I've been thinking about doing this for the past couple of weeks. I was going to put all the new Namco DX games plus one of my all time favorites, Jeff Minter's Tempest X. Geometry Wars would be bad ass too.

For a Namco game it's on the low side actually - a lot of their new games are released closer to the $10k range and they were talking about PMBR releasing with a $5000 price tag at first. It's also important to factor in that this is being made for arcade and bar operators and not home collectors. If it were for the home only, then it would be cheaper.

Yeah, I was going to say, I expected the price to be at least $5k. This is a pretty darn good price for a brand-new arcade game.

I can only hope to see this at a bar/some other type of establishment near me. I can't think of a one that will get it, though.

Looks pretty cool though. How soon before it shows up on MAME (kidding...kind of).

That would be awesome! If you draw up any plans, let me know. I'm into building one as well.

Will do. Ive been thinking about this for the longest time but what cabinet style would work out best I dont know considering LCD and horizontal mount. There are the slim cabs that DPTwiz cuts that look really good but I want the game to be in more of a retro type cab. I think we could make some awesome artwork for it )

Im sure the "mame" issues was a hurdle for Namco to release this. I bet the board is locked down like fort knox

Yeah, I know. I doubt we'll see it on Mame anytime soon. That's still most likely my best chance to ever play this thing.

Maybe Dave and Busters will get it someday.

Oh don't get me wrong. I understand that. Mario cart is 10k per unit.but that is for linkable cockpit cabs. And driving games really are the big earning games these days. I didn't think it was gonna be $500 or something. I just think its a little steep considering its a cocktail cab (sorta) and I think they charge an additional grand for each joystick ;)

hahha! i forgot about the cup holders. easy $700 right there. if it came with anti-gravity boots and a beer dispensing robot with boobs, then it would be worth that price tag.

Usually it seems like Japanese companies add several hundred to each inch of the screen. :)
I think Mario Kart was very overpriced, but a lot of Namco games have been up until recently. Dead Heat was their first racer they've had in a while that didn't start at $10k and now this. So I'm happy to see Namco finally catching onto the lower price trend others have been playing for a while. If they actually manage to release Tekken Tag Tournament 2 at a sub-$10k price then I'll be blown away.

I think I heard someone was producing the milk dispensers from A Clockwork Orange. Maybe it comes with one....
