Hi,
I heard that the backdoor keys on Pac-Man were all the same.
Is this true? Because my machine does not have the keys, and was wondering if I could replace them.
Thanks

Did you check inside the coin door, hanging from the little hook? That's where the back door key usually lives - and it's easy to overlook if you don't know it's there.

But yeah, I think they're all the same - don't know for sure though.

And don't spend 2 hours drilling that lock and shooting metal fragments all over the place.

If it takes you two hours to drill a lock, you're doing it wrong. It should take less than a minute.

Still, I usually try to either pick the lock, or get at it from the other side (most games, you can get to the coin door lock from the back door) and take the cam off.

IIRC, the factory back door lock on Midway games is double bitted, so picking it is going to be hard if you've never done it before. But, I don't really remember. The cheap locks are easy to pick though, and it's faster to do that than drill it - if only because you don't have to go find the drill, and then clean up little metal filings afterward.

Haven't looked at one of these specifically, but given the cost I'll bet you that pick set it's double sided and not double bitted. If so, it's no harder than any other cabinet lock.
