I have a PacMan 25th Anniversary edition that I have been routing for about 2 years. Has been a solid machine but it just started having an issue where there is no sound at all. I have tried adjusting the volume knob inside the machine, but still no sound. I also tried adjusting the volume knob on the Jamma board but again, no sound.

I am not sure what else to try. I read about sound issues with other Pac Man machines and a fix was replacing an Amp chip. I am not sure if that exists on my board.

Any suggestions would be appreciated. This is a picture of my Jamma board.

100 Ohm pot, something like this would work, if you have any other Jamma Cabinets you can test your board in it to confirm but I've had about 10 of these and the sound pots are always bad in the cabinet

Thanks again. Part ordered and installed. I now have sound! The only issue is that the sound only works when the volume knob is near the highest setting. If I move the volume knob on the pot, it cuts out unless it is in 1 specific area, very strange. However if I move the volume knob on the board, it will change the volume of the game. I believe I read previously about people having issues with the volume pot not working unless in certain spot.

Just happy to have sound again but would love to know what to do to have the ability to change the volume using that new volume pot.

Thanks again!

Set the vol pot on the game board to it's centered position. Then adjust the coin door vol pot to where you want it.

I would drop deoxit down in the pot that only works in one specific spot, let it sit for a min and then rotate back and forth to break up any shit and lubricate the pot.

You probably need to turn the main volume up on your pcb and then fine tune it with the one in the door

The main volume on the PCB works great in changing the overall volume of the game. Unfortunately, the new volume pot I installed inside the door only works in one specific area. If I move it higher or lower, the volume cuts out completely. Is it possible that I need a different volume pot? The one I installed is a 100-ohm pot. Not sure if there are different requirements for different cabinets?

Thanks!

Its a brand new pot so I dont think there is anything that needs to be broken down with deoxit
