P-ball repair guide for those who don't want to torrent ;)

Hmmmm... looks kinda like a site I used to visit(and a site I still visit on "someone's" private website). ;)

id give you rep points but i have no idea how its done. thank you for posting this.

In the upper right corner of his post, there's a picture of a scale. Click on it, leave some kind words, and sign it (if you wish). That leaves postitive reputation on that post.

It appears that this info is from the torrent, it's missing some of the same schematics (like the stuff from the Gottlieb System 1 section). Not that this is an issue, nice to have it available online. I also like the modifications he made to the layout.

Is it possible for someone to find a way to get Clay to come down off his ledge and contribute to the masses again? I mean really, his information is not secret - it's been out on a torrent for months, the website's been cloned, Wayback has it archived. I'm sure some creative people here would/can rebuild the site and host it somewhere else if needed.

What's the point? I understand that something ticked him off to pull the guides and make them a 'paid for' item, but really, is that necessary? Is there no other way for him to earn money than this?

Figured it'd be a matter of time.
I don't personally know Clay, however I do know how I'd feel about unauthorized use of my personal property. And then having a whole slew of people attacking me and seeing just how ungrateful people have become would be enough to make me pull the plug too.

I don't quite understand why all the frothing over Clay charging? Is a measely $10-$20 these days too much?

I'd suggest ya'll contact Clay directly and ask him how much to purchase the DVD with a side note that you hope he reconsiders making the info public again one day. Doesn;t matter hwo old we are, we all need an "atta boy" every once in a while.

The problem was he was forcing a donation to the pinball museum. If you wanted the guides you HAD TO donate money (he stated the amount) to the museum.

I think things would have different if he would have simply put some notation on his site to the effect: "If you find these guides useful, please consider donating (any amount) to the pinball museum". I don't think anyone would have had a problem with that.

Yeah, I don't mind paying for something that has value to me. That's not the issue here.

What I take issue with is that the site was apparently taken down b/c of a quabble between a few select individuals and Clay. Now we all get shut out.

That kind of tantrum just doesn't sit well with me. Like I said before, the information is out there and I can find what I need without having to use Clay's guides. But he's certainly not doing the hobby any favors by making what USED to be great content for newbies unavailable. His content was put out there for free and people praised him for it as being a courageously generous person for it. Then he has a spat with a few folks and locks it up.

Honestly? How does that help the community?
