I just finished repairing 2 Megatouch Maxx units, the screen looks great, they play great, everything works... but they look like crap.

The plastic is very oxidized/worn? It has a kind of rough feel, sort of like 80's car plastic that has been exposed to the elements for too many years.

Is there some treatment I can try using to make this look good?
When I first wipe it down it looks GREAT, then as the cleaner dries it goes back to looking like ass.

Any suggestions? I was thinking maybe something like Armor-All, not sure how well it would work though and I'd rather try a proven solution right out of the gate.

On a side note, anyone in the market for one of these?
I was going to wait to post in the FS section but while you are here... :)

hmm..I'd be interested to hear suggestions too. My glasses have the same rough/white look to them..

There are a couple of options, Krylon makes a paint for plastic called "Fusion", it would be more work but the results would be lasting and probably look better.

The other thing to try is Turtle Wax "Ice" car polish which is a liquid product that doesn't leave any powdery residue. I've used it on oxidized plastics and was happy with the results however it does wear off and on cars that get exposure to the elements, you'll be putting it on every 3 to 6 months. As for a game, who knows how long it would last?

From the different products the guys on the H2 forum used, Ice seemed to last the longest for what that's worth.

Here's a link to product info with more details:

sem or color bond plastics paint will make it new again
i did car and airplaine custom interiors for years and thats the stuff we used on the trim that got like that
dont use kyrlon fusion baddddd baddddd stuff

sem and color bond can be purchased in pre mixed rattle cans or sem can be color matched for spray with air gun . you can usually pick them up at a auto paint supply store not ceap tho i pay 10.75 here per can

as i have posted before on other posts about plastic repair this is what happens to your plastic from using fusion or standard spray paints they adhere to the surface ad eventualy start to dry ou and then break down the plastic ,either causing it to seperate and become brittle (like in the pic mostly from fusion) or get all goey and stickey(like on an old car dashboard or wheel usually from spray paint or armorall)

sem and color bond act more like a dye and actually bond to the plactic instead of just covering it up

what caused your plastic to look thw way it does
someone cleand it with alcohol based cleaner armor all, windex, ect all are no no's for plastic they dry out the plastic and cause it to break down

only clean plastic with soapy water thats all thats needed if you must use somthing stronger make shure it does not contan alcohol or any petroleum based solvents
