Yea I inserted a lot of quarters back in the 80's at the local A.C. As a kid I couldn't wait to go every Saturday afternoon to see what the newest game was out.

...and what a bargain at only $4k! At least you wouldn't have to worry about the neon getting damaged in shipping, since it's not included.

One reason I have to thank my parents for getting divorced when I was young is that my father would "visit" with me on Wednesday nights. He'd go to the bar right next to the Aladdin's Castle located in our local mall and give me a fiver for tokens. After he had "a few", I'd hit him up for another $5 and usually would keep that for the weekend. Yep, thanks dad for feeding my habit. :D (no, no comment from me on him going to the bar... I accepted that long ago) :D

Yea, regardless how big a fan anyone was of Aladdin's Castle, noone (atleast not on this site) is going to shell out 4 grand for a sign that dosen't even include the neon. Cool nonetheless.

I may throw a 1k offer at the guy and see what he does. :D

Mind you, my wife would kick my ass if I won. About the only way I could come up with that 1k without her knowing would be a little 401k loan... which I really don't want to do... but... but... but... it's a frickin' Aladdin's Castle sign dammit!!! ;)

I never went to Alladin's Castle, but if it were more reasonably priced I'd snag that for my basement...

Nobody's going to pay $4k for a 18 year old sign 'that originally cost over $5k!'

I have been watching eBay for any AC signs for a very long time. Figures that when one finally does come up, its the huge exterior sign, I'm broke and the starting bid is insane. Ugh.

very cool, even though we didn't have any Aladdin's Castles in South Fl.
we had Fun-O-Ramas - if it was one of those signs I'd be interested but not for 4k.

It would be really cool to see a smaller version, maybe about 5 ft long total. I went to Aladdin's Castle all the time! The local one used to have all the Midway games like Tron with the observation monitors on top. I can remember just about every game I played for the first time there!

I've been looking for a "The Gold Mine" sign. That was the closest thing to my home arcade stomping grounds. I think I will snag the pic as you never know when a pick of one of these will come in handy. Of course, you could do a fairly cheap repro of these things with just a hollow generic black rectangular box with rounded metal corners and the proper font cutting out the letters on the face. A piece of colored plexi and white neon behind and you would have a decent smaller arcade sign that was house sized. Maybe 4' long.

Just saw the sign and way over priced. If I had that kind of money I would have bought the "Big Star" Sign for 500 + 1600 to get it down.

I never went to Alladin's Castle, but when I bought my Tron a few years back, it had a bunch of Alladin's Castle paperwork in it. There were a few memos about Tron's gameplay, and a notice about a high score contest they were sponsoring. I need to see if I can dig that up...
