My uncle had brought his TRON to me to fix. it had a bad power supply, and i bought another one on Ebay many moons ago for it for $75. the old pcb was damged by the power supply sending out too much voltage, so it needs a new PCB, and he didn't want to fork out $200 bucks for a pcb over a year ago, now I see them on Ebay for 400-800 just for the boardset... so he's curious as to how much he would be able to sell it for, and I gave him what I thought to be an honest price of $150 or there about. Side art looks pretty good, 7.5-8 /10 and the control panel looks decent too. monitor needs some work, and it's missing the lower back door. Was I even close to in the ballpark on my estimate? If it is close, I'd almost buy it from him and trade parts for the board I need, but $400 is WAY too expensive for a board that's 20 years old in my opinion.

Oh, I agree. I don't work on boards for the most part, and at the time it was quoted to me having a tron board repaired would run about $150 and then the boards working were $200 on ebay. he didn't want to spend the money, and still doesn't especially now since the prices have gone up. I KNOW the game can be saved, and I'd rather it not get parted out. but the repair is costly, and i think he wanted it to be a simple $50-100 fix and that was his likely cap. either way, If it was a decent estimate, I'll try and get it and restore it. If he can get more than $150, i'll let him know what you guys think, but if I was fair I'll see if we can work out a deal for it and I'll put the money into repairing it. Please don't think I want the game gone, or parted out or that I've given up hope. I just don't want to put money into it that I wont get back from him because he doesn't want to spend it. I have no problem with sinking some money into it if I can make it work again. At this point the machine is not mine, and therefore not my call.
