Over rated games fueled by community hype.

Shuuz!

I had no idea how much the board costs. I heard it was awesome, funny, etc. I get the rarity and the lack of trackball games, but man, I feel that one was overpriced once I saw the gameplay. Same cost as capcom bowling sure.. more than a millipede/centipede combo board? Not for me!
Artwork looks cool though!

Easily one of the BEST drunk party games you could buy.

Seriously.

That said... MAME plays it awesome.

Most laserdisc games aren't that deep. They're better suited for background graphics and cutscenes. But never for the actual gameplay.

Now for some real talk
Track & Field
Super Zaxxon
shitty ass 720
Three fucking Stooges
99% of sports games made after 1979
Spyhunter 2
anything with all the letters R, A, S, T, and N in it
Commando

Gotta be Ice Cold Beer. It's the quintessential "drop a spare quarter when you're two or three beers into the night" game. Also about half of the Atari System 1 and 2 games.

That's a cool idea, is there a dvd like that out there?
If you have a nice DVD player you could probably use one of the DVD games and make a playlist of the videos without the interactive part.

Laserdisc games in general mostly suck.

I feel like Astron belt is like a cat trying to swat bugs through a window with random explosions thrown in for good measure.

I feel like the only really good interactive laser games are

Firefox
Star Rider
Freedom Fighter
Cube Quest

None of which exactly grow on trees.
Road Runner would have been a much better game had they stayed with the original laserdisc concept.

Yeah, I'll cast my vote for Major Havoc. That game is like Pink Floyd, I just don't get all of the hype. I'm in trouble now, aren't I? :D

Star Castle holds a place in my heart as it was one of the earliest of video games I remember playing down at the local Exxon gas station. I remember being enthralled with the game. I must have been no more than 8 or 9 years old. Having owned one, the gameplay is pretty meh. Back >< bounce > forth < bounce > back... and so on and so forth.
I like playing the game, and that's all I found that worked, but there has to be a better, real strategy than that.
