Over rated games fueled by community hype.

Nice thread here:

BTW I like Asteroids, it's common but so does common folk outside of the hobby, besides, Jerry loves it and that's all that matters

Nice commentary:

Star Castle does suck.

Most of the CCPU cinematronics games blow. The hardware just didn't have the horses.

Sundance and Barrier in particular are ridiculously bad.

Oh yeah, Barrier. That one sucks too.

It's been a looonngggg time since I've played or even seen it. Must suck too bad for people to want.

Pins deserve a thread like this of their own.

I'd say though that anyone fortunate enough to own a Xenon pin benefits from being popular and not going bald. If you're lucky enough to find one in great condition for close to mid $2K's price point you'd be wise to pick it up :) :)

DOT is one of the worst video games I've ever played. EDOT at least has a neat cab, UDOT has literally nothing going for it.

Star Wars fits this thread nicely as well. The game sucks.

Went through the thread and really trying to think of a game I don't like. I'm really trying but can't.
Maybe Qix? But haven't given it a proper chance yet as have no idea what to do.
Been playing Balloon Fight on Red Tent and really enjoying it. Never played it before but have no idea why? It's like a combo of Joust and Pooyan, dare I say better than both?
I just like most all unfortunately!

Maybe Qix?
Qix is actually really great once you understand your objective.

I like games that incorporate a really good "risk vs reward" system and Qix is a GREAT example.

The entire game balances on this risk vs. reward loop:
  • Play it safe with fast, small enclosures → steady progress, low points.
  • Take risks with slow, larger enclosures or pushing for higher screen coverage.... dangerous, but big scores.
