Hey fellas, so I have the chance to buy an upright Outrun, and a few other games that I would need to take two trips to pick up. The Outrun is only $125. The wheel does center it self apparently but it does not shake at all apparently. I don't know much about what goes into fixing this sort of issue so I thought I would reach out to community. Is it work picking up? Is it an easy fix? What do you think it would cost to fix?

When I had mine, I unplugged the shaker because it was just too much for me. It would knock the steering pot out of whack or something.
So maybe the seller unplugged theirs???

hmm yeah I heard it could be disabled too and this could possibley be the case I suppose. I just hate to drive all the way up there and it be something that's going to cost a lot to fix.

If it's a long way to find out that the mechanism is totally hosed have him take some photos of the inside underneath the wheel so you can try to see the damage--if any. Make sure to have him use a flash on the camera.

$125 is a good price if everything else is in check. You'd pay a minimum of $350-$400 for a working one in good shape.

If you're gonna have these machines you have to be willing to work on them yourself or you will pay to have them fixed... which isn't cheap! That's the brakes. ;)

Oh yeah, more than willing to get in there and fix stuff , I do it all the time with my machines. Never messed with an OutRun though but am eager to do so. Only thing I was trying to find out is if it was something that would cost me more to fix then buying a working one you know, then I would pass.

That makes total sense. I mean, if you're gonna have to spend three fiddy to get the parts and fix it--then pass, right?

Heheh. Very tempting at $125. Maybe say you could do it for $100 cash and go get 'er.

Yeah I think I am going to pull the trigger on it. I love learning how things work and how to fix them so at the very least I will end up with a learning expericence as well as a game that plays and steers etc. But yeah if anyone has any other tips on what to look out for so I can fix it please let me know I would greatly appreciate it. First thing I will do once I get it is to make sure its connected as mentioned.
