INTRODUCTION
I got this from a fellow KLOVer without a PCB in May 2017 on my way to Allentown's Pinfest. The sideart was damaged and had a bad discoloration from a Turbo Outrun sticker that had been removed. I was lucky that the machine still had the gas pedal. The dash had some pieces broken. Despite of this, I managed to get it back to life working really well, albeit the steering was noisy and definitely needed a restore.
It took me 2-3 years to gather all the parts and finally I had a week in October 2019 to do this restoration as I was between jobs. I had already decided to laminate the cabinet because I did not have experience with HVLP and did not want to mess around with that. I also figured that a black cabinet is not something that needs to be painted as laminate is readily available and is far more durable.
PARTS LIST
I purchased
Wilsonart black matte laminate, vertical grade (3 of 4"x8") together with 1 gallon Wilsonart 600 contact adhesive, as well as laminate shears and relevant supplies from cabinetwarehouse.com (see how close this laminate was to the original in a later post).
The
plastic bezel was NOS and came from a KLOV trade deal.
The
dash came from Craig at giz10p.co.uk. I was fortunate to take a test dash from Craig that was actually painted. The particular part was from a test run Craig did. It had some minor imperfections that remain un-noticed to this day. Now he only sells an unpainted dash.

I also got his
A/B metal gears.

The other
C/D gears were 3D printed and bought from the only source on eBay. All other replacement parts for the steering mechanism came from Mylstar's shop (arcadefixit.com).
Side and front art came from Olly at arcadeartshop.com and so was the map decal. Olly had the only faithful reproduction of the art at the time (i.e. not mirrored on each side) and the correct sheen on the map decal.

Paint for metal parts was VHT black satin automotive epoxy paint (coin door, pedal cover, marquee cover, screws) as this would ensure a durable coating.

Other black painting was done with
Rustoleum Black Satin spray (cabinet edges, back).
Nyogel 779ZC from arcadefixit.com
LUCAS white lithium grease NLGI #2
T-molding was 13/16" from T-molding.com (40ft). After doing another cabinet restoration, I prefer the Outerwater 13/16", seems to be a little flatter (link below).

Monitor (K7000) recondition was done using security0001's (arcadepartsandrepair.com) parts (flyback, cap kit). It was finally tested and rejuvenated using a B&K 467 tester. It has a minor screen burn, but I don't mind it.
