Just got a parts cab with a nice original steering wheel center cap (no hole!), but I need to remove it to put it on my machine. I wanted to see if anyone has done this before I get started just in case there is some trick to doing it or suggestions on how not to do it. I'd hate to be the one to damage it after surviving 20 years..

Thanks

My speed race cab has the wheel butchered because the seller tried to take it off to sell separate. He only suceeded in brutalising it badly. He gave up. From what I can see, you got to take the gear off the shaft from inside the cab, and then pull the wheel assembly off the cab, which will then allow you to access the screws underneath the boss of the wheel to dismantle it

Actually, I already bought one of those. Looks great, but I would rather have a nice original, if I could get it off the old steering wheel.

Thanks
